Who's to blame?

I am curious. When bad things happen - death of a loved one, especially a young person; natural disaster; someone gets a terminal disease - who is to blame? Do you believe that God causes those things to happen? Did God instigate the tsunami in Southeast Asia 3 years ago? Was it God who gave the loved one cancer? Does God take people when it is their time?
I am curious what you think. Is there anybody out there who is mad because of their perception of God's injustice by letting a bad thing happen to a good person?
Tell me what you think and I will give my opinion over the weekend.

I like to think that, and it may be you or the other Bill in my life that said, that God never promised an easy path to Him, that there would be pain and loss but that the eternal reward would be worth it all. I don't think we're supposed to understand the hows and the whys and the ways, and I don't believe that those kinds of things are "punishments" for mankind. I think they're just kinda the inevitable...its how we deal with those things that matter.

I heard one pastor say, "As soon as you are able to breathe, you are able to die." The beauty of life is the variety that God has showered upon us. God allows bad things to happen, often a consequence of our own carelessness, or from the sins of our fathers.

We don't know the MASTER plan so it will be human nature to be mad, frustrated, feel betrayed, question God, turn from God, and so on.

This is a hard...and well placed question. I think I struggle with this concept quite a bit. I had to ask myself why anyone has to get blamed. Can't things just happen?
This may sound like a direct contradiction to that last sentence, but I do believe everything happens for a reason. But for some reason I can't decide who makes those things happen (I mean to say that God has a hand in everything, but how much does He actually "force" to happen?).
I think after dealing with so much, it's too hard to try to think about why...you get to the point where you are too busy dealing with what is happening to question why.
